Choose the version that fits your lab
Both versions share the exact same features, test catalogue and printable reports. The only difference is where the records live and who can reach them.
Lab Connect — Cloud
Your lab’s records live in a private cloud database. Every computer in the lab sees the same live patients and reports within seconds — and your patients can open their own results from home, from any phone or computer, using a secure link.
- Patient portal — patients sign in with their lab number and CNIC to view and download their own reports from any device, at home or on the move.
- Any device, anywhere — the reception desk, the bench, the pathologist’s laptop at home — all see the same live records.
- Automatic cloud backup — every record is saved to a versioned cloud database as soon as it is entered, so a broken PC never costs you data.
- Keep working when the internet drops — changes queue on the computer and upload by themselves the moment the connection returns. The status bar shows exactly how many are waiting.
- WhatsApp and email the PDF — the printable report can be saved as PDF in one click and sent straight to the patient or referring doctor.
- Add a new computer in one paste — copy a setup code from any working machine and paste it on the new one. Nothing else to type.
- Labs that want to offer patients home access to results — a big differentiator against neighbouring labs.
- Labs with more than one branch, or where the pathologist reviews reports from home.
- Labs that want zero hardware to maintain — no server, no on-site backup drives.
Setup fee includes
- Custom build for your lab’s letterhead
- Your test menu & reference ranges configured
- Cloud database created in your lab’s account
- Staff accounts for your whole team
- Patient portal set up and branded
- On-site training for your staff
Lab Connect — Desktop
Installed on your lab’s own computers. The hard disk of one machine holds the database, and every other computer in the lab talks to it over your local network. No internet needed — nothing leaves the building.
- Runs entirely offline — the reception desk and the bench stations share the same live records over your local network. No internet required, ever.
- Your data stays on your machines — patient records never leave the lab. Full data sovereignty, ideal for labs with strict privacy policies.
- One-time purchase, lifetime license — no monthly subscription, no renewal, no per-patient charge. The software is yours after payment.
- Local network multi-PC — reception, bench and the pathologist’s room can all work on the same records simultaneously.
- One-click backup to USB — download the entire database as a single file, keep it on a USB drive, restore in one step if you ever need to.
- Add a new computer in one paste — copy a setup code from any working machine and paste it on the new one. Same on-site, no configuration.
- Labs that prefer no recurring subscription and want the software to be a one-time asset.
- Labs in areas with unreliable or no internet — everything runs on the local network.
- Labs with strict data-localisation policies where patient records must never leave the premises.
One-time fee includes
- Custom build for your lab’s letterhead
- Your test menu & reference ranges configured
- Installation on all lab computers
- Local network setup between them
- Staff accounts for your whole team
- On-site training for your staff
- First 3 months of support included
Everything a busy lab needs, in one screen
The core of Lab Connect is identical in both versions. What changes is only where the records live — never how the lab works.
Patient registration in seconds
Name, guardian, age (years / months / days), gender, mobile, CNIC and referring doctor. CNIC is formatted automatically as it is typed, so every record is consistent.
One search box for everything
Find any patient or report by name, mobile, CNIC, lab number, report number or test name. Partial searches work — the last few digits of a mobile number is enough.
Ready-made test catalogue
Twelve standard tests pre-loaded with parameters, units and reference ranges — CBC, LFT, RFT, Lipid, Thyroid, HbA1c, Urine Complete, Widal, Dengue and more.
Automatic High / Low flagging
Out-of-range values are flagged the moment they are typed — the field turns red for High or blue for Low, an H/L marker appears, and a small bar shows how far the value sits outside the range.
Professional letterhead reports
A4 reports print on your lab’s own letterhead — name, tagline, address, phones and email — with results grouped test by test, units, reference ranges, H/L markers and signature lines.
Drafts and final reports
Save a report as a draft while results are pending and finalise it later. Nothing half-finished gets issued by mistake — drafts are clearly marked as provisional when printed.
Staff logins & roles
Every person has their own username and password. Two roles — Lab Staff and Administrator — decide who can enter results, who can edit tests, and who can delete records.
Activity log & audit trail
Every sign-in, every record added, changed or deleted, and every account change is stamped with the time and the person’s name. Reports carry the technologist’s name next to “Performed by”.
Custom test templates
Add new tests, change parameter names, units, reference ranges, sample type or method. Set a low–high pair, a single limit (“up to 45”), or free reference text. Editing a template never changes a report already issued.
Keyboard-first workflow
Jump to search with /, switch screens with Alt + 1…6, start a report with Alt + N, register a patient with Alt + R. Most of a working day never needs the mouse.
Works offline, catches up by itself
If the connection drops, work carries on. Changes wait on the computer and upload by themselves when the internet returns. The bottom bar always shows exactly how many are waiting.
Backups and export
One-click backup downloads the complete database as a single file you can keep on a USB drive or email to yourself. Patient list exports to CSV/Excel for reports and reconciliation.
Standard test catalogue, fully customisable
These twelve tests come ready with parameters, units and reference ranges. Add, edit, duplicate or remove any of them during setup to match your lab’s actual menu.
Anything else your lab offers can be added as a new template — with sub-headings, mixed parameter types, and whatever reference format you use.
What you see is one look — the real Lab Connect is fully customised to you.
The live demo shows a sample lab’s name, letterhead, colours and test menu. In your actual installation, every part of Lab Connect is built around your lab: your name and logo on every report, your colour theme throughout the app, your exact test menu with your reference ranges, your staff accounts, your report numbering — all set up for you during installation. New tests, new features and new workflows can be added at any time after go-live.
Cloud vs Desktop, at a glance

Stated openly — what is not included in this version
We would rather you know now than be surprised later. None of these are deal-breakers for most labs, and each can be added later as a custom development if you decide you want it. They are simply not part of the standard package today.
- Billing, receipts, discounts and daily cash reports
- Barcode printing and scanning for sample tubes
- Automatic SMS or WhatsApp alert when a report is ready
- Direct connection to analysers (results still typed in by hand)
- Digital signature images and graphic logos on the letterhead
- Revenue and workload dashboards
- Patient portal on the Desktop version (available on Cloud only)
- Multi-branch central reporting (available as a custom add-on)
Everything else you might be wondering
How can I see the app before deciding?
The quickest way is to open the live demo. It is the actual application, loaded with sample patients, reports and test results, running in your browser — no signup, no download.
You can register a patient, pick tests, type results, watch the H/L flagging, and print a sample report. When you are ready to see it with your own lab’s name and tests, call or WhatsApp 0303 676 3300 for a guided demonstration.
Can the app be customised to our lab’s branding and colours?
Yes — every part of Lab Connect is customised to your lab during installation. That includes your lab’s name and letterhead on every report, your logo, your colour theme throughout the app, your exact test menu with your own reference ranges, your staff accounts, your report numbering, and your footer notes.
The live demo shows a sample lab’s look. Yours will look and feel completely your own, and new tests or features can be added at any time after go-live.
How long does setup take?
For a typical single-branch lab, installation and setup takes 2 to 3 working days once we have your letterhead details, test menu and reference ranges. Most of that time is spent matching your actual test parameters — the software itself installs in minutes on each computer.
Can I switch from Desktop to Cloud (or the other way) later?
Yes. Your patient records, reports and test templates can be migrated between versions. If you start on Desktop and later want the patient portal, we can move your database to the cloud. There is a migration charge for this, but it is far less than starting over.
What happens to my data if I stop paying the Cloud subscription?
The database belongs to your lab, held in your own cloud account — not ours. If you stop the subscription, we simply stop supporting the app. Your data remains in your account, and you can export the full patient list to CSV/Excel at any time. You are never locked out of your own records.
How many computers can I use on the Desktop version?
As many as you like within a single lab, connected over your local network. The one-time fee covers installation on all computers in one physical location. If you have a second branch that needs its own installation, that is a separate license.
Do I need a server for the Desktop version?
No dedicated server needed. One of your existing lab computers acts as the “host” — its hard disk holds the database, and the other computers connect to it over your local network. Any reasonably modern Windows, Mac or Linux machine works.
How does the patient portal work on the Cloud version?
Each patient gets a unique link or signs in with their lab number and CNIC. They see only their own reports — never anyone else’s. Reports are available as soon as the technologist finalises them. Patients can view on a phone, tablet or computer, and download the PDF to share with another doctor.
What about internet outages on the Cloud version?
Work continues normally. The status bar at the bottom of the app shows an amber dot and a count of changes waiting to sync. The moment the connection returns, everything uploads automatically. You never lose data because the internet dropped — the app was designed for this from day one.
Can staff sign in from home?
On the Cloud version, yes — any staff member can sign in from any computer or phone using their own username and password. This is particularly useful for a pathologist who reviews and signs reports from home. On the Desktop version, staff must be on the lab’s local network.
Is my patient data safe?
Yes. Records are protected by two layers: a device token that authorises each lab computer, and a personal username and password for each staff member. Passwords are never stored in readable form — only a scrambled fingerprint. On the Cloud version, data lives in your lab’s own private database; on the Desktop version, it never leaves your machines at all.
Can I customise the report letterhead and tests?
Absolutely. Both versions include your lab’s own letterhead — name, tagline, address, phones, email, pathologist’s name and qualification, and footer note. Your test menu is configured during setup to match your actual kits and reference ranges, and you can add or edit tests yourself at any time afterwards.
What is required to run Lab Connect?
A computer or tablet with a modern web browser (Chrome or Edge), a printer for reports, and — for the Cloud version — an internet connection. Setup, branding and staff training are all handled by SazApps Solutions.
Do you offer a free demonstration?
Yes. Start with the live demo to explore the app on your own, then call or WhatsApp 0303 676 3300 and we will walk you through it with your own lab’s name, letterhead and test menu, so you can see exactly how it will look in your practice.
